WORK EXPERIENCES:

​

May 2017 – present: PROJECT MANAGER at TEKNE Spa, a leading engineering company in Italy. My PM experience deals with the design, both architectural-structural and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing), and construction of important projects, including Milan Marriott Edition hotel, Malpensa Airport Terminal T1 expansion, Accenture building in Milan via Bonnet, expansion of the production complex and HQ of Loro Piana in Quarona (VC), Angelo Gordon building in Milan via Arona and other offices, hotels and commercial buildings. Team Leader and Project Manager with experience in implementing and verifying energy certification protocols such as LEED, WELL, WIRED and BREEA. I am experienced in managing projects developed both in CAD and in BIM, reviewing of contracts, estimating and reviewing costs to develop budget, engaging and managing consultants/suppliers, implementing local regulations, facilitating the project execution with stakeholders mitigating risks and seeking for change orders opportunities.I am also covering the role of RAQ (Quality Assurance Responsible), where I am responsible for the quality for all projects and activities, quality and environmental certifications obtainment and renewal (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015), 3rd party audits and company procedures/policies review and update.


Main accountabilities:

  • Cost Estimating and Budget development

    • Collaborate with Finance and Commercial dept. to deliver feasibility studies, draft terms of reference, prepare budgets and cost estimates, and/or manage and oversee all cost estimating and budgeting for new construction and development projects, including soft costs, hard costs, and other development related expenses

    • Preparation of technical and commercial quotations and evaluation of permits and related documentation required by the government

    • Manage costs against budget, provide updates and forecasts as needed including any change orders which may be required, transforming challenges in opportunities

  • Consultants and Suppliers management

    • Architect, engineers and other consultants as needed and general contractors and/or construction managers as needed for new construction, maintenance, and development projects. Includes pre-qualification, preparation of RFP’s, soliciting and assessment of proposals, and oversight of contract preparation

    • Meet suppliers and prepare the bill of quantities to assists tenderers in the calculation of construction costs for their tender

    • Manage consultants, general contractors and/or construction managers throughout the project in accordance with the project’s schedule and cost objectives

  • Project management

    • Project scheduling - establish and manage project schedule including pre-construction and construction phases

    • Risk identification and implementation of mitigation plans

    • Ensure execution of strategic critical projects and tasks

    • Team management and coordination of all functions involved

    • Supervise dispute resolution, environmental and permits considerations. Facilitator.

    • Present the details of new projects to seek approval and keep the authorities informed about any modifications in the architectural layout and also about the completion of project

    • Internal and external stakeholders sole contact together with direct interaction with clients in order to implement their requirements and needs

    • Provide assistance to architects, designers and engineers in developing construction plans from concept to implement project ideas and make them feasible

    • Prepare and develop layouts, elevations, cross sections in construction drawings and assist  in dimensional surveys of buildings

    • Maintain architectural-structural drawings, MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) drawings, plans, client specifications and survey notes well organized and in a coherent manner and add survey notes on drawings with precise specifications

    • Check if all the projects and designs follow the design and safety standards and brief other team members about the additions and modifications to the design and safety standards defined by the regulatory body. Ensure compliance to all architectural and engineering guidelines, standards and legislation

  • Quality Assurance

    • Verification and control activities that company quality standards are maintained

    • Periodic checks and update of policies and procedures

    • Management of annual audits with the certifying body for the renewal of existing certifications and the obtaining of new certifications

November 2016 – April 2017: TEAM LEADER at Macchi Architects which mainly deals with design and renovation of interiors, through the design and manufacturing of furniture. I worked on Royal villa in Ryhad, Saudi Arabia. The project included the construction of a master villa and four guest villas, as well as the design of the landscape and a shooting range for the royal family. The client decided to have their residence designed by Italian professionals. The client's desire was to have the beauty and quality of Made in Italy in his own home. Once the concept was developed by a local architect (D'Arch - Jihad Msallati) the project idea was developed by my project team according to the most innovative Italian technologies and knowledge. The team included designers, structural and plant engineers, landscape architects and furniture manufacturers.
As part of their duties, architectural team specified the cost estimates, materials, duration, and other relevant information required for the actualization of the building project.
This team was also entitled of conducting research as well as attending conferences/workshops to improve on existing knowledge, and staying up-to-date with architectural trends.
The challenge was to study and deepen the geography and culture of the Arab world, to be able to immerse Italian knowledge in a very different environment and traditions, with the aim of realizing an highly efficient project that harmonizes with the place and meets the needs of its inhabitants.

  • Preparing and presenting design proposals to clients and providing them recommendations on suitable choice of design, considering set budget and preference

  • Producing detailed drawings

  • Negotiating with contractors and other professionals

  • Attending regular meetings with clients, contractors and other specialists

  • Supervising the activities of junior designers to ensure the accuracy of the material to be produced

October 2013 – October 2016: ARCHITECT and DESIGNER at BDU Architecture which mainly deals with design and renovation of residential buildings interiors and furniture, in addition to stands for exhibitions and corporate image improvement.

Main accountabilities:

  • Construction site management, coordination of workforce and monitoring of materials deliveries

  • Coordination of design meetings with other professionals, technical specialist partners and suppliers

  • Validation of suppliers with technical alignment and commercial discussion

  • Single interface with customers with attention to understand their desires

2014-15: Collaboration with the studio of Architecture Best Italian Interior in their Milan Office as an ARCHITECT.

Drafting building practices and authorizations for Giorgio Armani a Luxury Fashion Company in Milan.

  • Carry out the historical building survey and adjustment for a new commercial function

  • Ensure compliance with the rules

  • Inspection of the installations 

  • Administrative tasks to prepare and follow up technical documents and bureaucratic procedures to obtaining legal authorizations

 

2013: Participation in the city project titled "Proposals for the New Town Plan of Carugate (MI)" in collaboration with the WWF (World Wide Fund for nature).
